Final Words

There are three things that always need to be kept in mind when discussing medical marijuana.

  • First, medical cannabis is always administrated as a treatment rather than a cure.  All of the conditions for which it is prescribed are chronic, ongoing, debilitating, life-threatening, or end-of-life situations that require specific treatment not available by any other means.
  • Second, patients in each state are required to abide by strict regulations regarding consumption and are not allowed to share or give away prescribed medical marijuana under any circumstances.
  • Third, it bears repeating that although many states have legalized the use of cannabis for medical treatment, it is still against federal law to use, cultivate, or possess marijuana, until such time as that law is revoked or amended.
